Isaiah 53:5
I was thinking about the studs going through the fabric and was reminded of this verse because of the word “pierced”. This is an amazing verse in the Old Testament that prophesies of someone who will come and bear humanity’s punishment to bring healing. Later in the New Testament, Jesus Christ fulfills all these promises in his lifetime and shows that he truly is God. Now, every single one of us can have access to this gift of healing, a completely renewed life that is righteous before God =)
A high waist skirt that features an elastic waistband and pockets!
Click to watch.
Materials: Wide elastic that fits around your waist without stretching and 2 metres of fabric
Time: 1 hour
Tips: Changing the material makes a big difference, and you can also use this tutorial for a maxi skirt! For lighter fabrics avoid making the skirt too short since that fabric bounces more.
Wear it with: Tucked in shirts for the summer, layered sweaters and leggings in the winter
Revelation 18:17
The verse describes how in a single hour, all the wealth of a great city will be laid to waste as God sets the world back in order. It reminds me of how I can try so hard to create my own security in things (in this case, wealth), but God is over it all and still has the ability to lay it to waste in a moment. So instead of trusting in things, I want to trust in God because I know in the end he is the one still standing =)

Time: 0.5 - 1 hour
Tips: Pick a stretchy fabric so it can flex around your head, thicker fabrics are warmer.
Wear it with: High bun or messy hair, and it hides greasy bangs well

This was my first head accessory tutorial! Reminded me actually of how Jesus is to be the head of the church. He went first, before us, so that we could follow him. If you are ever at a church that doesn’t acknowledge Jesus as the head, it’s like a body running around aimlessly with no head to guide it. Make sure you’re at a church where Jesus is the head!

The way this shirt moves well in the wind reminded me of the story when Jesus is on a boat and a storm comes. Everyone panics, but with the slightest word Jesus causes the storm to cease. So many times I’ve experienced this in my own life, where everything is falling apart and I get afraid, but as soon as I turn to God I know I can trust him with my life.
